At Wycherleys Dental Practice, dermal filler treatment is provided by Dr Estelle Edgington, using established hyaluronic acid-based fillers including Restylane®, Emervel® and Juvéderm®.
Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the skin and helps maintain hydration, smoothness and volume. As we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid in our skin decreases, which can contribute to loss of volume and the appearance of facial lines. Dermal fillers can help replenish this volume, lifting and smoothing the skin for a more refreshed appearance.
Hyaluronic acid fillers are non-animal products and, as they are biodegradable, they are gradually broken down and absorbed naturally by the body over time.

What are they used for?
Fillers are used most commonly to smooth nose to mouth lines and to enhance the lips, but can be used to treat most lines and wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid is a natural product and will, through time be completely broken down. Facial lines generally show improvement for 9-12 months.
